Alfred Allen Gray

Plattsburgh Alfred Allen Gray 86, of Mooers, died Wednesday, November 10, surrounded by his wife, family and friends at CVPH Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY. Alfred was born August 20, 1924 in Rockville, Nebraska to Alfred A Gray & Orley (Bishop) Gray. Alfred spent most of his life in Nebraska. In 1954, he married Lane Geisler of Pleasanton, Nebraska. After the birth of two children and two years of hail & drought, he moved to Waverly, Nebraska and for the next 16 years worked for the Nebraska State Weighing Scales Agency. Alfred & Lane spent 50 years in Waverly, Nebraska raising their 4 children, until 2008 when age and ill-health prompted their moving to Mooers, NY with daughter Michele. Alfred's greatest joy was serving as a minister of Jehovah's Witness for over 49 years. When he retired at age 62 in 1986, he and Lane became full-time preachers in the door-to-door ministry. He is survived by his wife, Lane; one sister Helen Kuticka of Ravenna, Nebraska; his daughter Michele and husband Tom Facey; son Alfred Herman Gray and wife Vickie of Lawn, Texas; son Darwin Gray & wife Gail of Pfugerville, Texas; (his youngest son Lawrence died in 1998); two grand-daughters Danielle Facey Duprey and fiancée Randy Wright; and Brandy Facey Blanchard and husband Michael; all of Plattsburgh, NY; 2 great-grandsons Giles Duprey & Eliot Wright; many nieces and nephews, many step-grandchildren & step-great grandchildren.
