Alvin O. “Al” Buskey, 92, formerly of Palmer St. passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on March 3, 1927 the son of Oscar and Julia (O’Rourke) Bousquet. Al served in the U. S. Army from 1945 to 1947. He had been a member of the Cumberland Bay Chorus since 1985 and was Lead singer in “Al’s Pals” Quartet. Al was a mason and brick layer for Local 2, retiring in 1993 after forty four years. He was a member of the Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club and of St. Peter’s Church.
Al was predeceased by his parents and his infant daughter Carol.
He is survived by his wife of sixty six years Doris (Royal) Buskey of Plattsburgh, two sons; Robert (Linda) Buskey of Melbourne, Arkansas, William (Mary) Buskey of Pine Bush, NY, two daughters; Catherine Powell and her companion Jeffrey Shelby of Plattsburgh , Marie (Richard) Montroy of Plattsburgh, a sister Theresa Lemiuex of Plattsburgh, five grandchildren; Patrick (Callista) Powell, Mollyann (Michael) Lombardi, Matthew Montroy and his fiancé Morgan Bennett, Timothy Montroy, Thomas Buskey, three great grandchildren; Lydia Montroy, Angelina Lombardi, Robert Lombardi, several nieces and nephews
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends wishing may have masses said in his memory.
