Alvin L "Moe" Moulton

October 1, 1953 — January 10, 2022

Alvin “Al” Lewis Moulton of Ellington, and formerly of Plattsburgh, New York, beloved husband of Lisa Marie (Hayes) Moulton, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Manchester Memorial Hospital due to complications from Covid-19. He was 68 years young and was born on October 1, 1953, the son of the late Alice Moulton Burleigh and his stepfather Andrew Burleigh Jr. of New York.

Al attended Chazy, Beekmantown, and Plattsburgh schools, and was a veteran of the United States Army. As a child his passions included playing baseball, fishing, and hunting. As a young man he worked on his family’s farm in Point au Rouche. Al enjoyed playing poker, riding Harley Davidsons with his brother and friends, and was an avid pool and dart player. He worked many years at Georgia Pacific, Luck Brothers, Rabideau Brothers, and then finally moved to Connecticut where he retired at Allstate Insurance Company.

He loved to build computers and play computer games. Al was the kind of person that anyone could count on in the time of need. He met the love of his life, Lisa Marie Hayes in the fall of 2014 when he walked into her place of employment, The Barber’s Daughter, to get a haircut. From that day forward he fell in love with her and asked her to marry him – they were married on February 10, 2018. Lisa and Al enjoyed going to the casinos, beach, playing cards, watching movies with family and friends, as well as taking walks together.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters Kara Moulton of Plattsburgh, New York and Liza Moulton of Dallas, Texas; his granddaughters, Cassidi and Sophia “Si” King, and his step-grandson, Raiden; his two beloved brothers, Andrew Burleigh of Vernon, and Alden Burleigh of New Jersey, and four stepsons, Justin of Vernon, Jamie of New Britain, Jesse of Vernon, and Joshua of Ellington.

Al was also predeceased by his grandfather Alvin L. Moulton, and his grandmother, Edna (Sylvester) Moulton.
