Andrew E "Sonny" Brault Jr

Andrew "Sonny" E. Brault, Jr., 82, of Robinson Terrace, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Thursday July 9, 2015 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tupper Lake, NY on July 13, 1932, the son of Andrew and Dorina (Dumas) Brault. Andrew graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1951 and soon after joined the United States Army serving his country during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. After being honorably discharged he returned to Plattsburgh to join his father's business, Andrew Brault and Son Inc. For forty years Andrew worked construction, with his father and later with his two sons forming Andrew Brault and Sons Inc., Andrew retired from construction in 1995, but always had a project. Andrew was a member of the Knight of Columbus, Council 255 and enjoyed spending time with his family and looking for the next home improvement project. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Dorina Brault, his brother Allen Brault, a daughter Andrea Trombly, a son Anthony Brault, and a grandson Matthew Brault. Andrew is survived by wife of 62 year Helen (King) Brault, they were married on March 1, 1953 at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, two sons; David Brault and his wife Deborah of Essex, VT and Arthur Brault and his wife Donna of Plattsburgh, seven grandchildren; Lynn Trombly, Glenn Trombly and his wife Deana, Nichole Kivlehan and her husband Kieran, Christopher Brault, Andrew "A. J." Brault and his wife Ashley, Cherie Brault and Jenna Brault, three great grandchildren, a sister; Judy Akey and her husband Robert of Peru, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling Hours will be on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers donations in Andrew's memory may be made to the Cumberland Head Fire Dept. or the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center.
