Anthony Rivers

Anthony Jay Rivers, affectionately known as "Tony" or "Big Jed," passed away on July 19, 2026, in West Chazy, New York, at the age of 69. Born on May 7, 1957, in Plattsburgh, New York, Anthony lived a life filled with charisma, intelligence, and devotion to his family and passions.

Anthony was the beloved husband of Donna M. Rivers and a proud father to his daughters Chasity Rivers and Alysha Rivers; his son Peter Rivers and his wife Samantha. He also cherished his stepson Raymond Carter and stepdaughter Mary Dandrow. His grandchildren—Phoebe Brunet, Gabriel Dandrow, and Parker Dandrow—brought him immense joy. Anthony is also survived by his sister Veronica “Bonnie” Lombard and her husband Stephen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Florence E. Rivers (Bird) and Peter A. Rivers; his infant brother Henry Rivers and his sister Kayte Mitchell.

A man of many talents and interests, Anthony had a lifelong love for music. He spent many years playing the drums in local bands, sharing his passion for rhythm with those around him. His love for music was matched only by his enthusiasm for reading science fiction books, watching wrestling, singing, and spending time with his family. Known for his quick wit and charm, Anthony had a unique ability to dazzle people with his brilliance—and when that didn’t work, he was always ready to baffle them with humor (BS).

Anthony’s warmth and friendliness left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments shared with family and friends.
