Saranac Mr. Arthur L. Pellerin, 79, of Nashville Road in Saranac, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Redford, N.Y. on August 24, 1931, the son of Arthur E. and Rose (Sharron) Pellerin Arthur served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He became a N.Y. State Trooper from 1953 to 1955 and later was corrections officer for over 25 years at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora. He was also rural letter carrier for the Saranac Post office for several years. He was a member of Saranac American Legion Post 1618, Elks Lodge # 621 in Plattsburgh, the Dannemora Knights of Columbus Council 2166 and the retired N.Y. State Troopers Association. He enjoyed golfing, playing the guitar, hunting, reading, and woodcarving. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theresa (Gleason) Pellerin, his children and spouses; John and Kathleen Pellerin of Malone, James Pellerin and companion Melody Cayea of Saranac, David and Holly Pellerin of Plattsburgh, a sister; Geraldine Belair and her husband Bill of Morrisonville, 7 grandchildren; Elizabeth , Laura, Karissa, Sarah, Mark, Morgan, Maureen, and Kyle, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, and a brother Roger Pellerin passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 am from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country or St. Joseph's Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y.
