Barry Arthur Mandamin

May 19, 1965 — January 13, 2026

On Tuesday in the early morning hours, Barry (Wiighwassniinii - Birch Bark Man) suddenly passed away at the age of 60.

Barry’s favorite joys were spending time with his children and grandchildren, seasonal work on the tractor, being in the gardens, collecting during maple season, and in his spare time, being a handyman. He took great pride in his wood working abilities, making small furniture pieces, and toys for the kids. He also loved smoking cigarettes, gambling, going to the casino to collect his free gifts, making hockey bets, and watching sci-fi until he scared himself.

Over the years, Barry’s love for Ganienkeh grew. He found his forever home, and his place in the community where he flourished the most. He made an impact on many of the people who have come and gone throughout the years. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Survived by his partner Dawn Delaronde and his children, Keith, Chastity (Andrea), Brendan, Shawn, Allyn, Waaskones, and his step-children, Raiè:wate (Jody), Teiokahráthe (Kaientanó:ron), Takaiénhne (Andrew), Ken’nikanorà:’a, Godchild Christopher, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Aunt, Uncle, cousins, and friends who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his mother Christine (Tina) Mandamin, his father-in-law Thomas Delaronde, his sisters Danette Restoule (Art), Dorothy Mandamin, Glenda Mandamin, and the mother of his children Danita Mandamin.

Barry is predeceased by his father Jerome (Theodore), his brother Joseph, his mother-in-law Katsi’tsenhawehkénha, and his step-son Tehorahkwanekenhkénha.

Visiting hours will start at 10:00AM on Thursday January 15, 2026, and will continue through the night. Funeral service will be at 11:00AM Friday January 16, 2026.
