Mrs. Bernadette Clukey, 98, died at Meadowbrook Healthcare early Sunday morning, November 12th. She was born in Plattsburgh August 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Douglas) Desmarais. She lived here all her life, marrying Delton Clukey on May 8, 1943 and raising 6 kids. She enjoyed car rides through the Adirondacks, baking, knitting, crocheting, and conversing with friends and family. In her later years she embarked on an afghan crocheting crusade which produced more than 50 afghans. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Church. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Delton; a son, Delton Jr.; an infant daughter, Linda Rose; and two sisters, Rita Desmarais and Geraldine Mesec. She is survived by two daughters, Linda & Bernard Miller of Plattsburgh, Judy & Edward Visconti of Gloversville; three sons, Warren & Timothy Clukey of Plattsburgh, Chris & Kelly Clukey of Plattsburgh; two family friends, Ruth Marshall and Debi Tripp of Plattsburgh; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Calling hours will be held on Friday November 17, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
