Carl J. Goddeau, 80, of Cadyville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at his home. He was born on October 30th, 1944, the son of Albert Goddeau and Catherine Elizabeth (McGee) Goddeau.

Carl attended Saranac Central High School, where he had a passion for wrestling. Upon his graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine corps and was honorably discharged in 1971 as a Sergeant. When he returned to his hometown of Cadyville NY, he continued his passion as a logger and started his own Business as Goddeau’s logging and sawmill. Many knew Carl for his hard work, dedication and professionalism in his later years in creating railings, raised garden beds, fences and miscellaneous wood crafts. Carl spent many hours in his wood shop and loved working with his hands right up until the end.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria Goddeau; his children, Carla Fletcher and her husband Richard, Aaron Goddeau and his wife Laurie, and Shannon Goddeau and her companion Daniel Santana; grandchildren, Dalton, Trevor, Elizabeth, Savannah, Brandon, Caleigh and Luke; sister Barbara Hugus and his sister-in-laws Ethel Parent, Theresa Goddeau and Sylvia Lobdell; several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Everest Goddeau and Donald "Bonhomme" Goddeau.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Cemetery with Father Chris Looby officiating.
