Carole Anne Currey
Carole Anne Currey (née Teakle), born on May 29, 1935, passed into our Heavenly Father’s arms on January 24, 2026.
Born in Rutland, Vermont, Carole grew up in North Creek, New York, where she developed the strength, independence, and resourcefulness that carried her throughout her life. While pursuing a nursing degree at SUNY Plattsburgh, she met her first husband, Howard Donald Gage, Sr., an Air Force officer. As an Air Force spouse, Carole thrived—embracing each new assignment, adapting with grace to frequent moves, and creating a warm, loving home for their two children, Don and Julie (who predeceased her in 2025).
In 1987, Carole met Lloyd Currey, who became her devoted husband and companion for nearly four decades. Their life together was filled with friendship, partnership, and steady love, lasting until her passing in 2026.
Carole is survived by her husband, Lloyd Currey; her son Don Gage and his wife Jenny; Julie’s husband, Chris, and her five beloved grandchildren (Sarah, Don, Nicolas, Matthew, and John), who were ongoing sources of pride and joy.
In addition to her work as a nurse, Carole had a lifelong love of crafts, creativity, and the joy of discovering hidden treasures at flea markets, farmers markets, and antique stores. Her curiosity and enthusiasm infused these hobbies with a special spark. She loved things that sparkled!
Carole’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched with her kindness and interest, her sense of humor, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. We miss her!
