Clara C. Pelkey

Clara Catherine Pelkey, 81, of Plattsburgh, New York, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on June 15, 2026, at Meadowbrook Healthcare, following a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born in Scranton, PA on November 29, 1945. The son of the late Leo and Clare (Malloy) Laware. Clara grew up in Redford. She retired from CVPH Medical Center in 2008.

Clara had the kindest eyes and a gentle, loving spirit. She enjoyed listening to live music, spending time with family and friends, and never missed an opportunity to laugh, celebrate, and make memories with those she loved. Clara was a devoted sister, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. Her unconditional love, warmth, and caring nature touched countless lives and will be remembered always by those fortunate enough to know her.

Left to cherish the memory of Clara is her husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Pelkey and one sister Ethel “Sadie” Wright. Daughter, Tina (Steve) Osborne and two sons, Keith ‘Iggy’ Tacy, and Jason (Meg) Pelkey. Her Grandchildren; Brandon (Rachael) Lavarnway, Mason Tacy, Caitlynn Osborne, Hannah (Brodi) Stansbury, Hayden Pelkey, Alexis Tacy. Great Grandchildren; Sawyer Lavarnway, Everett, Millie and Jace Stansbury.

Clara was predeceased by her parents; Leo and Clare Laware, brother, Robert ‘Bob’ Laware; son, Michael Tacy, Brother-in-law; Greg Wright.

Calling hours will be held at Brown Funeral home on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed immediately by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
