Danny C Hackel

Danny C. Hackel, 61, of Plattsburgh, died on Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side. Danny was born in Manhattan to Charles and Helen (Fox) Hackel on January 24, 1956. Danny is survived by his wife Linda Pearson, his father Charles, sister, Cindy Carpenter and her husband David, brother Chuck Hackel, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by this mother Helen. Danny grew-up on the ball fields of Sparta, NJ where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of enthusiasm for sports and forged lifelong relationships with a legion friends who reveled in his company and wonderful sense of humor. After marrying Linda 32 years ago, they moved to the Peru and Plattsburgh area where he worked in construction as a union carpenter. Here he made another trove of friends which he treasured. Here also, he discovered his passion for golf; enjoyed as much for the companions he played with as the activity itself. Over the years he cultivated the keen fashion sense he displayed when resplendent in his golf attire. He could tell a story like nobody's business. He was a unique individualist with a kind and generous heart. He cultivated friendships and gardens with equal aplomb. All who knew him are now diminished with his passing. All who knew knew him remember him with a smile in their hearts. A celebration of life will be on Saturday June 3, 2017, at 4:00 pm at the American Legion #1619 in West Plattsburgh.
