Mr. David F. Coryea, 75, of Station Street in Altona, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Altona on October 21, 1934, the son of Frank and Irene (Peryea) Coryea. David attended Altona Central School and later was employed as a machine operator for over 41 years at Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh until his retirement. David was a member of the Altona Rockside Seniors and Holy Angels Church. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Janet (LaPorte) Coryea of Altona whom he married August 1, 1959, three sons and daughters in law; Michael and Pat Coryea of Altona, John and Phyllis Coryea of Rouses Point, Francis and Tracey Coryea of West Chazy, four daughters and two sons in law; Lori Young and George Bosley of West Chazy, Sarah and Donald Hemmingway of Mooers Forks, Connie and Terry Boyea of Altona, Patti Peryea of West Chazy, six sisters and brother in law; Betty Stansbury and her husband Ed of Peru, Diane Burke and John of Keeseville, Rena Urban and her husband Michael of Wisconsin, Darlene Wohlegenath and her husband Gary of Florida, Linda Gratton and her husband Michael of Florida and Bertha Phillpess of Minnesota, two sisters in law; Sharon Coryea of West Chazy and Tina Coryea of Plattsburgh. 12 grandchildren; Michele, Amanda, Courtney, Rachel, Johni Rae, Shandele, Nathan, Ashley, Shawn, Jeremy, Matthew and Sierra, a great granddaughter Emilee and several nieces and nephews also survive him. David was predeceased by his parents, a son Robert Coryea and two brothers, Ronnie and Gordon Coryea and two sisters; Ester Framton and Theresa Bryant. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from Holy Angels Church in Altona. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to the Altona Fire Department and Hospice of the North Country. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona.
