Doris L Barber (Spooner)

Doris L. (Spooner) Barber, 84, of Beekmantown, passed away April 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on January 18, 1935 the daughter of Joseph and Georgianna (Crooks) Spooner. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling.
Left to cherish the memory of Doris are her son’s Keith and Flo Barber, Curtis Barber, Michael and Teri Barber and Donald Barber and Anna Laber, her grandchildren: Tracey and Rick Duprey, Christina and Dave Velie, Jeanna Barber and companion Dan Burgess, Tonia Barber, Nathaniel Barber, DJ Barber, Corey Barber, Kelly Barber and companion Gage Cook and 11 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and Skip Riley who was like a son and best dance partner.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years Robert (Bobby), her parents, her brothers Harold, Donald and Ronald, daughter-in-law Pamela Barber and her grandson Curtis Barber Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country, Plattsburgh, NY.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 5, 2019 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be at 1:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
