Elizabeth M ""Betty"" Ashley

Mrs. Elizabeth M. "Betty" Ashley, 89, of the Ashley Road, West Chazy, NY passed away Wednesday February 14, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Trumansburg, NY on June 9, 1928 the daughter of Walter and Minnie (Ruth) Emmons. Betty and her husband Charlie owned and operated the Cha-Liz Farm for many years. She was active with the Home Bureau and enjoyed stained glass, joy riding, horseback riding and spending time with friends. Betty was predeceased by her parents, her husband Charlie, a son James and a sister Shirley. She is survived by a son Bill Ashley and his wife Christine of West Chazy, a grandson James Ashley, two brothers; Fred (Jitter) Denmark of Trumansburg, NY, Jake Denmark of Trumansburg, , NY, several nieces and nephews. Betty's family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the West Chazy Community Church with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Entombment will be at Whispering Maples Mausoleum, Ellenburg Depot, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the North Country or the West Chazy Community Church.
