Elizabeth D "Bessie" Reyell

Mrs. Elizabeth D. "Bessie" Reyell, 96, of Beartown Road, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home with family by her side. She was born in Beartown on January 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Fred and Hattie (St. Germain) Rivers. Bessie operated the concession stand at Beartown Ski Area for 35 years and was a parishioner of St. Alexander's Church. She helped operate the family farm and numerous family owned businesses. She enjoyed quilting, doing puzzles, her dogs, sitting on the front porch and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by three sons and daughters in law; Francis "Buzz" and Linda O'Connell-Reyell, Fred and Kathy Reyell, David Reyell and companion Art McKee, all of Beartown, two daughters and sons in law; Theresa and Lowell Way of Beekmantown, Cindy and David Rock of Beartown, 10 grandchildren; Martha Breyette and companion Chris Trombley, Jessica and Scott Dukett, Jeremy and Darcy Way, Bill Reyell, Laura and Brian Gokey, Peter Reyell and companion Lori Babbie, Joe and Wendy Reyell, Jason Reyell, Beckie and Becky McKee, Jon and Jenn McKee, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Francis Norris Reyell passed away on August 26, 1998. Two brothers and sisters in law, Frederick and Mary Rivers, William and Margaret Rivers, and six sisters and their spouses; Evelyn Thompson, Florence and Henry Sears, Gertrude and Al Bushey, Isabelle and Donald Bryan, Edith and Wilbur Stanton , Dorothy and Donald Reyell , and her 2 canine companions Missy and Heidi also passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
