On August 9th 2018, Elton Stromback, of Clark Street, West Chazy, peacefully passed away at C.V.P.H. at 6:40 a.m. with his wife of 60 years by his side. Elton Delano Stromback, the 7th child, of Lars Leonard Stromback(Sweden) and Minnie Grendahl Stromback (Minnesota/Norway) was born in Mora, Minnesota. In 1956, at the age of 17, Elton joined the Air Force following his older brothers. The Stromback boys all served their country representing all branches. After boot camp he thought he would be stationed in sunny California but the joke was on him. Ironically he was assigned in, Plattsburgh, NY, with his brother; Warren. In 1957 he met the love of his life, Patricia Manor. Airman 2nd class Stromback proposed to Patricia two weeks later. They wed on May 17, 1958. They began their family in 1959 and that same year, Elton was honorably discharged on August 18, 1959. Serving his country was one of his proudest achievements. His other, raising his family with his wife. This included spending time with his "in-laws and outlaws", as he lovingly referred to them. He loved to joke and make people laugh and see them smile. He gave nicknames to almost everyone. His passion were simple: Family, taking care of his home, fixing small engines, working on cars, tinkering in his garage, hunting, fishing and listening to old time country music. He was a box truck and big rig trucker by profession. He worked for various companies: MBT Bakery, Baker's Air Force gas, Coca Cola, Utica Beer (UC), McCadam's Distributing. Georgia Pacific, DelGuards, Relations Family Milk trucks. He is preceded by parents, Lars and Minnie; brothers, Virgil, Lloyd, Miles, Wayne and Warren, and sister Mabel Bayer. He is survived by his brother Danny and wife Kathy of Las Vegas. Elton's wife, Patricia resides in West Chazy at their family home, son Randy and wife Bonnie of West Chazy, daughter Suzanne and husband Ron Arellano of California, Carla Ahrens and husband Mike of Morrisonville, NY, Cory Stromback of West Chazy. Grandchildren Eric and wife Emanuelle, Kyle, Craig, Shawn and Victoria, Samantha and Anthony Branchard. Great Grandchildren, Miles Samuel Delano Brandström Arellano and Daisy Mae Ahrens. Sister-in-law Sharon Stromback, Sister-in-law Dianna Stromback, Sister-in-laws: Marjorie (Ronnie) Poupore, Arlene (Rodney) Sterling, Linda (Donald) Parrott, Bobby (Penny) Manor. He has many nieces and nephews that live all over the country whom he loved as well: Scott, Jay, Pam, Jeff, Brian , Dale, Lynn, Alan, Curtis, Warren Jr, Tracy, Trevor and Brooke. Mike, Karan, Colleen, Penny, Debbie, Audrey, Alan, Nancy, Valarie, Marty, Tina, Tammy, Vicki, Todd, Bonnie, Lisa, Candy, Lori, Sherri, Dennis, Melissa, Donna, Chad, Brad, Eric, Jenny, Kim, Stacy and Joe. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to assist with funeral expenses.
