Emily Rose Medeiros

Emily Rose Medeiros, 95, of Saranac, New York passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at the residence of her daughter in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on February 16th, 1931, the daughter of Thomas McGrath and Helen V. (Bopp) McGrath.

Emily graduated high school from St. Mary's in Katonah, New York. After schooling, she worked for the New York Telephone Company and later worked for New York State Department of Corrections at both the Bedford Hills and Fishkill facilities, rising to the rank of Lieutenant.

She was a generous and loving person who was dedicated to her family. She will be missed by all who knew her wonderful fun loving spirit.

She joyously spent her autumn years on her farm in Saranac with many of her family and dear friends.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph E. Medeiros, James (Darlene) Medeiros, Patricia (Bob) Jones, Jane Kelleher, George Medeiros; grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Michele Ann, Jessica, Selia, Matthew, Emily, Austin, Loren, Kyle, Meaghan, Lauren Kate and Sarah; great grandchildren, Mikaila, Leo, Ethan, Jonah, Michael, Lilah, Freya, Abigail, Zane, DeAndre, Owen, Nayana, Chandra, Bella, Cade, Camryn and Alexander.

She is predeceased by her parents, her spouse, Joseph L. Medeiros, son, David Medeiros; siblings, Mary, Martin, Rose and Patricia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, New York. Interment will take place in the spring at Independence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Emily's wishes were to donate to a charity of one's choice.
