Eugene P "Gene" Fessette

Point au Roche Mr. Eugene P. "Gene" Fessette, 78, of the Dickson Point Road, Point au Roche died Friday, June 17, 2011 at home with his loving wife and family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Point au Roche, New York on January 22, 1933 the son of William and Grace (Fredette) Fessette. Gene was self employed as Fessette Trucking for 50 years. He was an avid bowler and gardener. Gene was a member of the Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department for three years and he had been a foster parent. He enjoyed decorating for Christmas and was known as the man who lit the whole neighborhood. Gene was predeceased by his parents William and Grace Fessette, his first wife Joanne Leigh King Fessette and two brothers Clarence and Edward Fessette. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Joanne (Bulris) Fessette of Point au Roche, his son from his first marriage, Peter Fessette and his wife Tammy of Point au Roche, a son Michael Fessette and his wife Emily of West Chazy, a daughter Jessica Fessette of Point au Roche, two grandsons Jacob and Kevin and two beautiful grand daughters Abigail and Madison, a sister Rosemary Boire of Beekmantown, a brother Lester Fessette and his wife Carol of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, June 20, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00. p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home. Following cremation interment will be private at the Point au Roche Cemetery.
