Francis W. Baker, 79, of Rand Hill Road in Morrisonville, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at his home with family by his side. He was born in Dannemora on July 11, 1942, the son of the late Francis and Hazel (Vaughn) Baker.
Francis served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later was employed by Georgia Pacific, Diamond International, Mold Rite Plastics and Freihoffer Bakery. He was a member of the Dannemora Fire Department and enjoyed baseball.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette (Rabideau) Baker, his children and their spouses; Kathy Baker of Plattsburgh, Rena and Bruce Bombard of West Chazy, Valarie Baker of Albany, Jennifer and Ahmed Khaled of Nebraska, his brothers and sister in law; Norman and Betty Baker of Cadyville, Paul Baker of New Hampshire, his grandchildren; Donnie and Shea LaPorte, Aaron and Heather LaPorte, Tony Amaya , Christian Sherman, Kevin Sherman, six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Kevin Baker, a sister Anna Reil, a sister in law; Janice Baker and a niece Michele Baker.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Interment will be in St. Alexander’s Cemetery in Morrisonville at a later date.
