Gerald F. Rock, 93, of Route 3, West Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021 at UVHN: CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by his family. He was born in Cadyville, NY in 1928 the son of Raymond and Mamie Rock.
Following a two-year tour of duty in the U.S. Army, he married Joan Bousquet. Together they raised five children. He loved his family more than anything else in the world.
Gerald was best known for his small engine repair shop, “Gerald Rock Sales & Service” and volunteering for the Shriners, driving around several counties collecting donations. Over the course of his long lifetime, he was also a radio operator, musician, electronics technician, truckdriver, maintenance department manager, business owner and much more.
Observant and inquisitive to the very end, nothing escaped his curiosity. He fully researched every unknown, no matter how big or small. His family relied on his expertise and assistance in any situation, and will forever treasure precious memories of in-depth conversations on any topic.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan Rock; two daughters, Cathy Rock (Bob Hunt), Rose Recor (Mike Gadway), three sons David Rock (Sheila), Daniel Rock and Paul Rock; a beloved brother-in-law Phillip Bousquet, his very good friend Jim Haack and several nieces and nephews.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents, a sister Lucretia Rock, a brother Everest Rock (Flossie), son-in-law Fred Gonyea, brothers-in-law Alfred Bousquet and Edgar Bousquet (Carol).
At Gerald’s request services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
