Glen P. Robinson

January 26, 1943 — January 27, 2026

Terre Haute, Indiana.

Glen Robinson, 83, longtime resident of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away January 27th in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Glen was born in Saratoga Springs, NY, to Paul and Ann (Laffan) Robinson. He married Linda Durham in 1962 and graduated from Cornell University in 1969. He served his country in the Army reserves and worked at various agricultural jobs, including Stewart’s Dairy in the Saratoga, NY area before going into the insurance business and settling in Plattsburgh in 1973.

Glen was a man on the move! He jogged or walked daily around Cumberland Head. Since his retirement from Northern Insuring, Plattsburgh residents have long seen Glen walking its city streets. He visited the mall or Stewarts’s with his handicapped daughter, Amy, on many Saturdays until her passing in 2020. He moved indoors to stores like Target and Hobby Lobby when age required steadier footing and kept moving even when forced to use a walker.

Glen’s life was characterized by one word – care. He cared for his parents in their later years, traveling twice a month to Saratoga to visit and oversee their care. He cared for his wife, Linda, who suffered with multiple physical ailments including MS. He cared for his handicapped daughter, Amy, all her life and took her out and about every other Saturday when she moved into care with Mountain Lake Services. There was a considerable period when these ministrations went on simultaneously. He loved his siblings, and even his nieces and nephews knew they could count on “Uncle Glen.” Glen cared for his family and did not consider any of this heroic. It was just what he did for those he loved, and they adored him.

Glen is survived by one daughter, Melissa McKee (Randy) of Terre Haute, Indiana, one brother, Edward (Ted) Robinson of Hudson Falls, NY, one sister, Margaret Lynd of Columbus, OH, two grandsons, Randy McKee II and Daniel (Nicole) McKee, six great grandchildren, two great great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda (Durham) Robinson, one beloved daughter, Amy Robinson, and his parents, Paul and Ann (Laffan) Robinson.

In accordance with Glen’s preference for simplicity, there will be a graveside service only, at Riverside Cemetery, Plattsburgh, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain Lake Services, 10 St. Patrick’s Place, Port Henry, NY 12972.
