Gloria J. Fitts, 78, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at CVPH Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 16, 1947, in Lawrence, New York, to Walter and Nuella (Ploof) Clookey. Gloria was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and steady presence touched all who knew her.
Gloria dedicated many years of her career to Wyeth Ayerst/Pfizer, where she was a valued and respected employee. Outside of her work, she found her greatest joy in her family, especially in time spent with her children and cherished grandchildren.
Gloria had a generous heart and was a caregiver to many, selflessly tending to others’ needs throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Adrian S. Fitts.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Kelly Fitts (Dan Liegel), David Fitts (Amy Mott), Kevin Fitts (Jessica), and Kristina (David). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Lily, Morgan, Wyatt, Harper, Aidan, Keira, and Owen, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Gloria is also survived by her siblings: Donna (Gary) Anamaet, Sheila Facteau, Deborah Napper, and Richard (Kelly) Clookey; and by her sister-in-law, Molly Tayler. She shared a lifelong bond with her family and held them close to her heart.
Arrangements are through Browns Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A private funeral service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Rouses Point Fire and EMS Department in her honor.
