Gloria M. LaMotte, née Desso, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on February 7, 1938, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Leavis Desso and Leona Martineau. She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Allen Jack Desso.
Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and dedication to her family shaped generations. She now reunites in Heaven with her beloved husband, Charles W. LaMotte, whom she dearly missed.
She leaves behind her loving children, Brent (Belinda) LaMotte and Brian (Donna) LaMotte; her cherished grandchildren, Melinda LaMotte, Melissa Rabideau, Heather Purtell, Ryan (Shania) LaMotte, and Lauren (Eric) Turek; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Austin Smith, Jaycie Long, Thales Provost, Allial LaMotte, and Lailla LaMotte.
Gloria found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially tending to her gardens. Roses blooming in the front yard, many house plants filling her home, and a vegetable garden in the back that she tended with pride.
Faith was an important part of Gloria’s life. In her early years, she was a devoted Catholic whose beliefs helped guide her through life’s joys and challenges. In her later years, she continued her spiritual journey through dedicated Bible study with Jehovah’s Witnesses, finding comfort, purpose, and hope in the Scriptures.
Gloria’s greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, unwavering love, and the countless memories she created with those she held dear. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the values she instilled in them.
Though she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her husband and loved ones who went before her.
Calling hours are at Brown Funeral Home Wednesday June 10th beginning at 12pm with funeral services to be held at 2pm.
In our hearts forever, loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
