Harlan “Sliv” Spooner has gained his wings on March 17th 2026. Born to Joseph and Georgianna (Crooks) Spooner on September 14th 1940.
Harlan had married the love of his life, Juanita “Marie” Spooner on December 7th, 1968. Together they built a beautiful family. Harlan worked at the Imperial Wallpaper Mill for 40+ years. Harlan was a family man. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, camping, and having cookouts with his loved ones. He always had quite the stories to tell that would keep the kids “on their toes.”
Left to cherish his memory is his son Mark Sr. and his spouse Ann Spooner; 4 daughters Sherry Criss, Kim Walantus, Melissa Brown, Heather Spooner; 2 granddaughters of which he raised, Nikki and Cheryl Yates; 15 grand-children, 31 great-grandchildren, one brother Gerald and his spouse Gloria Spooner, and one sister Shirley Reome.
Harlan was pre-deceased by his wife of 62 years Juanita “Marie” Spooner, brothers Harold, Donald, Ronald, and Joseph Spooner, one sister Doris Barber, and his daughter Barbara Jo Yates.
Calling hours will be held on Monday March 23, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 24, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery later in the year.
