Hazel O Cerone

Plattsburgh Mrs. Hazel O. Cerone, 88, of Monty St. Plattsburgh, NY passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the CVPH Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on September 12, 1928 the daughter of Harold and Orene (Gebo) Varno. Hazel owned and operated Harold's Restaurant & Bar on Charlotte St. In her later years, she worked in the health care field at Sacred Heart Nursing Home and retired from Meadowbrook Nursing Home. She enjoyed various crafts, gardening, canning, sewing and various games of chance. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and Our Lady of Victory Church. Hazel was predeceased by her parents Harold and Orene Varno. She is survived by her loving lifelong companion John Palma, her children; Philip (Leigh) Cerone, Debbie Hughes, Cindy (David) Pearson, Jill Cerone, one grandson Philip (Zachary) Hughes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 25, 2017 follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to North Country Center for Independence or Third Age Adult Center.
