Holly A. Cadigan

April 27, 1964 — June 18, 2025

Plattsburgh

Helen "Holly" A. Cadigan, 61, of Plattsburgh, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at home. She was born Monday, April 27th, 1964, the daughter of Raymond G. Carnahan and Hattie G. (Goss) Carnahan. She married Stephen Cadigan on May 29, 1993.

A longtime resident of Plattsburgh, Holly was excited to talk about her travels growing up in a military family, especially her years in Australia and New Mexico. A graduate of MAI, Holly would go on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master of Information Systems Management. She worked in childcare at PAFB for many years and, after the birth of her son, Stevie, chose to run a daycare business from home. Throughout the latter years of her life, Holly was the "IT" expert of the family and could always be counted on to fix the "modern age" tech issues.

Sports were a big part of her childhood and, according to her husband, "Holly had the best arm" he had ever seen (for a girl). She was a passionate animal lover, cherishing her many dogs and, most recently, her two cats. She also loved horses and treasured the horse painting her mom made for her many years ago. She loved classic rock, including greats like Led Zeppelin, Lynard Skynard, and Jim Croce. She enjoyed supernatural TV and movies, especially the anime, "Bleach". Actually, Holly was streaming shows before "streaming" became a thing. She loved puzzles and computer games. In fact, over the last decade, she never missed a day checking into her online game, "Vegas World." Furthermore, Holly was an unbelievably talented cook. She expertly carried on the family tradition of Polish cooking and has passed on the recipes using the. "Just taste it," method.

Most importantly, Holly was an immensely loving and completely devoted wife and mother. She made it a point to teach her children the most important of all lessons, "Of all the things you could be in this world, the most important is that you are kind." Holly modeled that lesson every day of her too-short life.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Stephen Cadigan; children Tiffany Clay and her husband Bill, Stephen R. Cadigan and his wife Kaley and Sean Cadigan and his wife Adrienne; grandchildren, Dylan, Peyton, Esther and Atlas; father, Raymond G. Carnahan; siblings, Raymie Carnahan, Rick Carnahan and Timothy Carnahan; several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her mother, Hattie Carnahan.

Calling hours will take place on Sunday June 22, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York. A Prayer Service will follow with Father William Reamer.

Donations in Holly's name may be made out to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
