Irvin J. “Dick’ Brown, 87, of Miner Farm Road in Sciota, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home. He was born in Chazy on November 20, 1933.
Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later was employed at Georgia Pacific for 43 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Louis de France Church in Sciota and was the cemetery caretaker from 1971 to 1995. He enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his John Deere tractor.
He survived by his wife of 66 years, Maude (Reome) Brown, his children and their spouses; Mark and Kandie Brown of Beekmantown, Dale Brown of West Chazy, a daughter in law Charlene Brown of Texas, his sister; Betty Martino of West Chazy, his granddaughter; Hayley, his grandsons; Mark and Danielle Brown, and Justin and Joni Brown, a great granddaughter; Abby, 3 great grandsons; Jack, Scott and Hank, a dear friend of the family Joan Sterling, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Dicky Brown.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Holy Angels Church in Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am. Interment with military honors will be in St. Louis de France Cemetery in Sciota at a later date. Masses may be offered in his memory.
