Jadie Eugene Ratliff III

Jadie Eugene Ratliff III, 57, of Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at UVM Medical Center.

He was born on March 28, 1969, the son of Jadie Eugene Ratliff Jr. and Elaine (Martin) Ratliff.

Jadie, known to many as Jay, was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was the devoted father of Victoria, Nick, and Kimberlin, and the proud grandfather of Connor. Jay especially loved spending time fishing, a pastime he cherished most when shared with his grandson Connor. He also had a passion for thrifting and had a real knack for finding great treasures. Known for his strong will, Jay could be as stubborn as a bull, a trait that was part of what made him who he was and will be fondly remembered by those who loved him.

He is also survived by his sisters, Francesca and Betty, and will be sadly missed by them, as well as by his many nieces and nephews.

Jay was welcomed into heaven by his mother, Elaine, and his Favorite dog, Buddy.

In keeping with Jay’s spirit, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
