James Lamont Murchison, 58, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at his residence. He was born on January 8th, 1968 , the son of David Murchison and Jane Murchison.


He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He dedicated his life to his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved most.


He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. As a father, he provided guidance, support, and unconditional love to his children, who will forever carry his wisdom and values in their hearts.


Nothing brought him greater pride than being a grandfather. His grandchildren will always remember his warm hugs, his stories, his sense of humor, and the special moments they shared together.


He was also a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. His generous spirit, gentle heart, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the love he shared throughout his life. His legacy lives on through his family, whose lives were forever enriched by his presence.


He is survived by his wife, Diana Davies; children, Tiania, Ashia, Jayden, Dayton, Kayleigh, Keagen, Hayden, Raelynn, Gavyn; grandchildren, Adalyn, Luka, Silas, Azariah, Akeem, Kamden, Malakai and Khalani; siblings, Kimmy, Sandy, Mike, Mardi, Charlene, & David. And daughter in law’s Joanna and Gabrielle.


He is predeceased by his parents.

Services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York


A celebration of life to be held at a later date and time.
