Plattsburgh, NY Janet R. Ball (Ketchum) 75 of Durand St., Plattsburgh passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer at UVM Health Network - CVPH in Plattsburgh. She was born on May 27, 1942 in Plattsburgh, NY the daughter Harvey and Helen (Thomas) Ketchum. Janet was predeceased in death by her son Ricky M. Ball, parents Harvey and Hellen (Thomas) Ketchum, and brother Thomas Ketchum. Survivors include her husband of 56 years Richard L. Ball, her daughter Jennifer (Ball) Faber, her son David Ball, twin granddaughters and her greatest joy Scarlett and Charlotte, granddaughter Madeleine, her brother Carl Ketchum, sister-in-law and husband Liz and John Weiss who gave much support to Janet especially during her long illness; they were very special to her, and a nephew Jay Weiss. Janet was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School and Mildred Elley College. Upon graduation Janet's career included working for General Dynamics missile installations, and Dr. Paul Agnew and Dr. Thomas McGill. Before starting a 35 year career in the Radiology Department at CVPH retiring in 2011. She loved working in her gardens and yards and planted every tree and shrub on the property. Her biggest delight was the many trips she took with her daughter and the twins. She will be missed by all who knew her. There will be no calling hours, and a memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memorial donation, if desired, may be made to the family.
