Jean D Barcomb

Dannemora Jean D. Barcomb, 72, of Cook Street in Dannemora, passed away Thursday, March 03, 2016 at her home. She was born in Churubusco on March 11, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Patnode) Barcomb. Jean graduated from Ellenburg Central School in 1960 . She was employed in the admissions office at SUNY Plattsburgh for 27 years and later at Clinton Correctional Facility for several years. Jean was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, American Legion Post 1623 Ladies Auxillary in Lyon Mountain, and the CSEA Retirement System. She enjoyed BINGO, going to the casino, snowmobiling and attending the Franklin County Fair. She is survived by several cousins, close friends, her caregiver Marie Clark and her canine companion "Ginger". Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3 Park Row in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Interment will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Churubusco at a later date. Memorial donations may be offered to the St. Joseph's Church Building Fund or the Adirondack Humane Society.
