Joanne C. Collins, 90, recently from Meadowbrook Nursing Facility passed into her eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct 20. Born in Saranac Lake on Sept. 28, 1930, the eldest daughter of Lionel and Cora Bunker, she spent her late teens and adult life in Cadyville and Plattsburgh. She joins her beloved husband, Henry D. Collins with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage and her son, Jon, who also predeceased her.
Left behind are her children with whom she shared her endless love and joy of life. She was a loving mother to Sandra (Durwood) Scribner of Yadkinville, NC, James (Barbara) Collins and Robert Collins (Gloria) of West Chazy, NY. Vicky (Randy) Darrah of Morrisonville, NY, Laurie (David) Collins of Schuyler Falls, NY, Diane (Shawn) Allen of Fulton, NY, and Becky Collins of Plattsburgh. There are a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharing their grief are her beloved siblings. Barbara Ellsworth of Stuart, FL; Anita Simonds of Jacksonville, FL, Gerald Bunker, Fort Myers,Fl; Rodney (Pat) Bunker of Lubbock, TX, Judith (Loren) Vaughn of Saranac Lake, NY and William (Flossie) Bunker of Okeechobee, Fl. Also too many nieces and nephews to name.
There will be no calling hours or service, with a graveside service at the convenience of the family. Anyone wishing to remember Joanne, please donate to your favorite charity in her name.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, Cadyville.
