It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Neiman, who left us unexpectedly on August 18, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY, on June 24, 1959, John was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and unwavering support. Those who knew John will remember his generous spirit, his ability to bring joy to any gathering, and his deep love for family.
John is survived by his siblings and in-laws: brothers Charles “Rick” Neiman, Loren Neiman and his partner Lori Baker, and David and his wife Judy Neiman; sisters Sue and her husband John Devins, and Kari and her husband Todd Prinsen. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished him dearly.
John was retired from the Plattsburgh City School District, where he built lasting friendships and took pride in his work and community. He also wanted to leave one last message for his fellow Peru Rod and Gun Club friends who enjoyed playing pull tabs with him: “Loooooooser!” — a reminder of the playful humor that defined so much of who he was.
His memory will live on in the laughter he inspired, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Though his passing leaves an unfillable void, John’s presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life will take place a t a date to be determined.
