Joseph H "Joe" Benware

Dannemora Joseph "Joe" H. Benware, 53, of Hammond Street, Dannemora, NY, passed away on Thursday May 7, 2015 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 25, 1961, the son of William and Yolanda (Alphonso) Benware. Joe grew up in Cadyville, NY and graduated from Saranac Central School in 1980. He worked at Adirondack Correctional Facility and then at Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and two dogs; Kayla and Suzie. He was predeceased his parents and two step sons; Christopher and Chad Brunell. Joe is survived by his wife Lenore, whom he married on November 5, 2011, his grandchildren; Devin, Rylan and Raina, his siblings; John William Benware and his wife Sharon of West Chazy, Thomas Benware and his wife Jane of Plattsburgh, Tonya Tacy and her husband Francis of Cadyville and Santa Martin and her husband Jeff of Cadyville, his father-in-law Eugene Miller, Sr. and his companion Denise of Altona, his mother-in-law Gladys Carter and her husband Lee of Ellenburg, brothers-in-law; Gene Miller, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Altona, Larry Miller and his wife Kelly of West Chazy, Gary Miller of Champlain, Billy Miller and his companion Taylor of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews also survive him, including a special niece Megan Miller who was like a daughter to Joe. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday May 14, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Cemetery in Altona. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
