Joseph G. Verville, 86, of Bradenton, FL, and Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2021, at his home in Florida surrounded by family and under the care of hospice. He was born in Massena, NY, on May 23, 1934, the son of Elephege and AnneMarie (Chartier) Verville.
He graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1952. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1953, serving for 4 years as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief for the EC-121 “Super Connie”. His service during the Korean War included assignments at Otis Air Force Base, MA, and overseas stationing at Thule, Greenland. Following his military service, he entered work as a lineman in the Municipal Lighting Department of Plattsburgh, NY. A true entrepreneur, he started Verville’s skating shop, including ice and roller skating at the Crete Center. The roller skating business expanded to schools and arenas throughout upstate New York and Vermont. He also owned and managed many apartment buildings in and around Plattsburgh. He and his sons built Orchard Court, Orchard Court South, and Ridgeview apartments.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elephege and Anne-Marie Verville, and his brother Paul Verville.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia. His daughter Cynthia(Mike) Raymond and their family Michael, Morgan (Ashley), Connor, Madelyn, Luke and Mary His son Michael (Cynthia) Verville, and their family Lisa(Neal) , Maria and Noah His son Jerry(Jackie) Verville and their family Jonathan(Rachel), Robert and Patrick, Stephanie(Nick), Mirielle, Adrienne and Shawn. His daughter Anne(Jeff) Bouyea and their family Nicholas, Justin(Nicole), Case and Abigail. His daughter Susan Fountain and her family, Erin(Matt), Logan, Savannah, Ryan and Casey(Eddie). His sisters, MaryJane(Phil) Deeb, and Claudette Ippolito.
A service will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 20th, at The Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh with streaming options available for remote viewing. Please contact Brown Funeral Home for additional details.
In lieu of flowers please direct donations to your local Hospice Care. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery later in the year
