Joshua T. Sears, 45, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Joshua, or more affectionately known as Josh, was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Josh is survived by his mother, Sandra Sears, of Plattsburgh, his "kids" Isayah and Makaila Gonzalez, of Plattsburgh his loving dog Bosco, his brothers Jay (Melissa) Macey of Chazy, Joe (Laura) Begor of Peru, and Doug Giddings of Plattsburgh, many aunts and uncles including Donna (John) Macey of Plattsburgh, Jean Newsom of Peru, Susan Wood of Plattsburgh, Jill (Donnie) St. John of Plattsburgh, Thomas (Tammy) Sears of Cumberland Head, Steven (Joan) Sears of Peru, Edward (Eleanore) Sears of Florida, and Mary Darrah of Peru. Josh is also survived by many cousins and friends including his dearest friends, Jerry (Kim) McGarvey of North Dakota, Amanda (Cody) Hudson of California, and Jennifer (Jerry Jr) Lapan of Rouses Point.

Josh is predeceased by his grandparents John and Helen Sears, uncles Jack and Richard Sears, and aunt Angela Sears, and his cousin Ricky Sears.

Josh was a class of 2000 graduate of Plattsburgh City School District. He drove taxi for many years and enjoyed spending his time off with friends and family or running the roads exploring our area.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York. Burial will take place in the spring.
