Joyce M Porter (Terry)

Joyce M. Porter, 86, of the Anderson Road, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on February 26, 1933, the daughter of Viola Sharron and adopted daughter of Alfred and Eva (Trombley) Terry.
Joyce worked as a home health care aide for several years, beginning at Senior Services where she received the Distinguished Service Award in 1988. She then went to North Country Senior Services where she again received the Distinguished Service Award in 1995. Joyce then did private duty for several more years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed doing puzzles, embroidering many pieces that she made for family and friends, and spending time with her family. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her husband Sherwin “Bud” Porter , son Peter Porter and sister and brother in law Rea and Francis Perry.
She is survived by two sons; Keith (Cindy) Porter of Morrisonville, Kevin Porter of Peru, her grandchildren; Kadie and fiancée Joe Bouyea, Ami, Zoe, Austin and Angelica, a great grandson Zeppelin Bouyea, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations in her memory to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH.
