Karl M. Tobrocke

Karl “Toby” Tobrocke, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026 with his loving family by his side.

Karl was the eldest of seven children born to Rollind and Betty (Bedore) Tobrocke. He is survived by his sisters Karen Tobrocke, Trudi (Gary) Bouvia, and Heidi Tobrocke and his brothers Fritz (Joni-Jill) Tobrocke and Hans (Lorraine) Tobrocke.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother and sister in law Kurt and Cheryl Tobrocke.

Karl is survived by his children, Jeffrey Tobrocke and Elizabeth Deutsch, Beth and Jason Surprenant, and Seth and Stephanie Tobrocke. He was fondly known as “Grandpa Hank” by his grandchildren, Mackenzie Tobrocke, Madison (Bill) Hogan, Aiden Surprenant, Gabriel Surprenant, Taylor Tobrocke, and Samantha Tobrocke. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 Karl was a kind and generous soul who enjoyed visiting with people, telling stories, and laughing. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved spending time outdoors, including many summers on Lake Champlain boating and scuba diving. As a member of the Arbor Day Foundation, Karl would like to be remembered by the planting of a tree or by performing a Random Act of Kindness for someone in your community.

At Karl's request, there will be no calling hours; a celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
