Kathleen Masella

Plattsburgh Mrs. Kathleen Masella, 83, of McGaulley Avenue, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at CVPH with loving family by her side. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on February 13, 1930, the daughter of Patrick and Jean (Caggie) Kelleher. Kathleen met her husband John at the campsites in Plattsburgh on a vacation from Montreal. They were married on March 26, 1951 in Montreal. Kathleen was a stay at home mother raising her family. She later worked as a Nursery School Teacher at Plattsburgh Lanes and a school crossing guard at the corner of Monty Street and South Catherine Street for many years. Kathleen also was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and visiting with family and friends. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, her husband John Masella, Sr., a son Michael Masella, two sisters and brother-in-laws; Peggy Kelleher, Irene and her husband Eric Lange and Leonard Waters. Kathleen is survived by two sons; John L. Masella, Jr. and his wife Vicki of Peru, Glen Masella of Plattsburgh, two daughters; Patsy LaFlam and her husband Steven of Plattsburgh, Debbie Masella and her husband Scott Howard of Plattsburgh, four grandchildren; J. P. Masella, Maggie Reed and her husband Ben, Jeannie Howard and Shauna Masella, a step-grandson Scotty Howard, a brother Thomas Kelleher and his wife Frances; a sister Patsy Waters of Montreal, Canada, a sister-in-law June Parker of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday July 21, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, Plattsburgh. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
