Kenneth P Duquette

Plattsburgh Mr. Kenneth P. "Duke" Duquette, 79, of Crescent Drive passed away Thursday, February 04, 2016 at the CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Springfield, MA on August 24, 1936 the son of Beatrice Duquette. Duke was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was discharged at Plattsburgh Air Force Base in 1962. He received his Master Degree in Mass Communications from Syracuse University and a Master Degree in Library Science from SUNY Albany. Duke worked at Plattsburgh State for thirty years retiring in 1996. He was an amateur radio operator receiving his licensee in 1976. His number was K2HDU and he became good friends with his fellow hammer Roger. He enjoyed playing golf with his men friends on Wednesday at Bluff Point and the senior mixed league on Tuesday. He also enjoyed skiing and boating in his younger years. Duke is survived by his wife of thirty two years Brenda (Bechard) Duquette of Plattsburgh. They were married on Christmas Eve in 1983. He is also survived by a son Ken Duquette, Jr. and his wife Annette of Ormond Beach, FL, a daughter Debra Parrott and her husband Clyde of Plattsburgh, two stepsons; Dan Santa and his wife Gayle of Plattsburgh, Glenn Santa and his wife Kelle of Syracuse, NY, three granddaughters and two step granddaughters. Calling hours will be Monday, February 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center or Hospice of the North Country.
