Kenneth "Sonny Boy" Lashway

Kenneth "Sonny Boy" Lashway, 77, of Giroux Road, West Chazy, NY, passed away on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Altona, NY on October 28, 1939 the son of Frank and Anna (Langivn) Lashway. Ken graduated from Altona Central School and soon after joined the United States Army. He met the love of his life Monika while he was stationed in Germany. They were married February 16, 1962 in Germany. Ken was honorably discharged in 1965 and returned to Altona with Monika. Several years later Ken moved his family to Holyoke, MA when he took a job as a Drop Forger with Storm Drop Forge. After retiring from Storm Drop Forge in 1990, Ken and Monica traveled across the United States to places like Florida, Tennessee and California until returning to the North Country. He was predeceased by his parents and several siblings. Ken is survived by his wife Monika, three daughters; Gale McElwey of Peru, Tina Depledge and her husband Darren of Florida and Heidi Cayea and her husband Joseph of Lyon Mountain, a son in-law Neil McElwey, eight grandchildren; Kourtnee and her husband Casey, Bridgette, Alesha, Jessica, Neil, Darrin, Jr., Devin and Meladee, two great grandchildren; Riley and Sadie, a brother Francis Menard Lashway and his wife Pat and two sister; Bernice Bushey and Geraldine Kimbler. Calling hours will be held on Friday June 16, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Chazy.
