Kenyatta Hendrix, a devoted family member and resident of Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Edward Hendrix Sr. and Bertha Hendrix, Kenyatta leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joanna, Patricia, and Zena; two grandchildren, Kira and Luna; two brothers, Edward and wife Rebecca Hendrix, and Eric and wife Justine Hendrix; sisters Keisha Marion (Hendrix) and step-sister Michelle Middleton; and a vast network of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. And loved to spoil the younger nephews Elijah, Isiah, and niece Skippie-Lynn.
Kenyatta's decision to relocate to the North Country two years ago, after more than 32 years of anticipation, was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family. Although the adjustment presented challenges, she remained steadfast in her resolve. Kenyatta found solace in her spiritual community at Unity Christian Church and pursued personal growth through Champlain Valley Family Services, where she obtained a certificate in substance abuse. It was during this time that she forged an unbreakable bond with Meagan Pearo and her son Kenny, whom Kenyatta adored and treated as her own.
Celebration of life will be at Unity Christian Church on October 18th at 11am with concessions to follow.
