Morrisonville Leander E. Gebo, 95, of Trim Road, Morrisonville, NY, passed away on Thursday May 11, 2017 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on January 2, 1922 the son of Edward and Anna (Longtin) Gebo. Leander was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army as a Sergeant in the Military Police, stationed in Alaska from 1942 to 1945. After his service, he returned to Plattsburgh, working at NBC Bakery, Bouyea Bakery, and MA Jerry's and Sons Heavy Equipment Repair. He retired as a heavy equipment mechanic on Plattsburgh Air Force Base after working for over 20 years. He loved to be outdoors, fishing and camping. His greatest love was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife of 75 years, Kathleen E. Gebo. Leander is survived by his sister, Geraldine Gebo, a son Gary Gebo and his wife Theresa, a daughter Carol Provost and her husband William, all of Morrisonville, five grandchildren; Kenneth, Christopher, Jennifer, Shawna and Amanda, nine great grandchildren; Samantha, Justin, Brandon, Taylor, Tanner, Tucker, Jacob, Nathan and Amarah, several nieces and nephews also survive him. There will be no public calling hours. Services will be private for the family. The family would like to thank the compassionate care he received from North Country Homecare.
