Linda E. Akey, 75, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 with her loving family beside her. She was born on April 6th, 1950 , the daughter of Paul Covey and Jacqueline (Stratemeyer) Covey.
Linda loved everything about life especially her family and friends. Her favorite place was their family camp in North Bangor, where she spent the majority of her last days surrounded by everyone, she loved. She was a faithful and loved member of the Assembly of God church in Plattsburgh where she spent countless hours volunteering for things like Youth summer camps and packing boxes for operation Christmas child. She was a longtime member of the women’s auxiliary post 1619 American Legion where she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and friendship to so many. Linda has made a lasting impact on so many lives in so many different ways and will always be remembered with love.
She is survived by her children, Jodie Cook and her husband Jason, Jamie McDonald and husband Michael, Tonya Turner; stepchildren, Harold Akey Jr. and his wife Kristy, Samuel Akey and his wife Kayla,; grandchildren Austin, Cooper, Andrew, Matthew, Brooklyn, Zachariah Alex, Kylie, Camron, Haley and Connor; great grandchild Jaxson; mom Jacqueline Stratemeyer ; brother James Covey; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Harold Akey and her father Paul Covey
A Celebration of Life will take place at the American Legion Post 1619 on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 5 PM until 8 PM.
