Linda L Pickering

Plattsburgh Linda L. Pickering, 58, of the Salmon River Road in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on April 1, 1951, the daughter of Marcel and Shirley (Legnard) Bechard Linda graduated from Canton A.T.C. in 1970, and she was a laboratory technician at CVPH and Wyeth. Later, she worked as a teacher's aide and secretary at St. Peter's School in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, knitting and being near the ocean. She was a loving mother and grandmother who valued spending time with her children and her grandson Nicholas. She is survived by her husband, Richard Pickering; her children, Jennifer and husband Kevin LaBarge of Plattsburgh, Angela Pickering and fiancé R.J. Balch of Nashua, N.H., Laurie Pickering of Plattsburgh, and Lisa Pickering of New Windsor, N.Y.; her mother, Shirley Bechard of Rouses Point, NY; her two sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie Bechard and Tom Fitzpatrick of New Hampton, N.H. and Susan and Dave Mayette of Beekmantown; a grandson, Nicholas LaBarge; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Marcel Bechard and her grandparents Aldoria and Domina Bechard and Ruth and Earl Legnard. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in the parish cemetary.
