Lorraine L. Auger, 88, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born on May 29th, 1937, in Concord, MA, the daughter of Isadore Auger and Louise (St. Onge) Auger.
During her life, Lorraine was well known for her passion for crafts. She loved crocheting clothes for dolls and teddy bears as well as baby items for donation to hospitals. She also enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and plastic canvas. She enjoyed going for long drives with no planned destination, always looking for new roads to explore. She could be found reading a Danielle Steel novel, or watching scary movies with her children. She also loved to go for long walks with her friends during the day and heading out to dance in the evening. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandchildren, who she would often be heard singing to.
Lorraine is survived by her children; Elizabeth Rawlings, Barbara Hebert, Diane (John) Deleo, Richard (Diane) Hebert, Lisa Quinn, Jeffrey Hebert, Texann (Jeffrey) Wells, John (Nora) Kesick and Darrell (Jessi) Lasly, as well as her many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Auger and Edward Auger. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Pearl & Jay Brothers.
The family would like to thank the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and their staff for all the care they provided over the past several years.
