Margaret C Dumas

Mrs. Margaret C. Dumas, 89, formerly of the Monty Rd., passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on December 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Michael and Rhea (Baraba) Inselsberger. Margaret grew up in Brooklyn where she later was employed a clerical worker for the Celanese Corporation. While in Brooklyn, she met and married her husband Earl Dumas. She enjoyed being a seamstress, painting, arts and crafts, singing, and caring for her grandchildren She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Marilyn Dumas of Chazy, NY, Richard and Patricia Dumas of Red Lion, PA and Christopher and Julie Dumas of Citrus Heights, CA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline and Stewart Patnode of Plattsburgh, NY and Christina and Richard Woodbury of Hermon, ME.; her sister; Janet Pullen of Salt Lake City, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Earl F. Dumas on March 7, 2013. Four brothers also passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Memorial donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country.
