Peggy M. Mooney, 68, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Thursday, February 5, 2026. She was born on February 26, 1957, the daughter of Francis LaVarnway and Catherine (LaPorte) LaVarnway.
Peggy was the heart of her family and a woman you did not easily forget. She was known for her stubborn nature, quick wit, and a sense of humor that could make people laugh when they least expected it. A devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, Peggy dedicated her life to her family. She shared 48 years of marriage with her husband, Wayne Mooney, building a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Her daughters and grandchildren were her greatest joy. Peggy’s strength, humor, and unconditional love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her, and her memory will live on through the family she loved so deeply.
She was predeceased by her parents and her baby brother.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne Mooney; her four daughters; her cherished grandchildren; her two baby sisters and big brother whom she held very close to her heart.
