Margaret "Peggy" E. Gooshaw

Margaret E. "Peggy" Gooshaw, 88, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. She was born in Ogdensburg on August 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Levingston and Charlotte (Delaney) Marshall.

Peggy graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1954 and was employed at Diamond International in Ogdensburg for many years and retired from the Plattsburgh location. She enjoyed travelling and in her earlier years was an avid bowler and softball player. She was a longtime parishioner of Notre Dame Church.

She married Charles A. Lapointe at Notre Dame Church on June 2, 1962 with the late Msgr. A.D. Charbonneau celebrating. Charles passed away in 1990 and a later marriage to Thomas Gooshaw ended in divorce.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law; Stephen and Melissa Lapointe of Estero, Florida, a daughter; Suzanne Kanaly of Ohio, her grandchildren; April (Travis) Edson of Stark, N.H., Stephanie Lapointe of Chazy, Priscilla (Stephen) Bartlett of Morrisonville, Nicholas and Andrew Kanaly of Ohio, her great grandchildren; Ella Conners, Amelie Edson, Atlas McCaughan and Josie Bartlett, and many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Canada.

She was predeceased by her six siblings, Katherine Antalek, Jane Dzielawa, Marie LaBoda, Theresa Fortin, John Marshall and James Marshall.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Orchards at Meadowbrook for the excellent care given to Peggy.
